Sharing the STEEM blockchain to Crypto enthusiasts

Now what happens when you get a STEEM fanatic / addict / evangelist going to a crypto meetup. I will surely talk about STEEM of course !

Had the pleasure of going to a impromptu meetup with some of the community leads in the crypto scene here in Malaysia. Its always great chilling with this bunch as you get to hear updates from various projects around the crypto scene.

btfmdn

Sandra from ZCoin and Marcus from Invech had so much stuff going on at their end that its exciting to chat with them as you know even though its a bearish markets, these projects is still around and moving strong.

Manage to meet up with Salamantex CEO and CTA as well and discuss opportunities in integrating STEEM into their payment gateway. They would be pushing for marketing in Malaysia and South East Asia real soon. It would be great to be able to get merchants on the Salamantex to be able to use STEEM as one of the payment. I’m sure its a solution which people are looking forward to

Using STEEM promo videos to promote our offline events

If you’ve not been around for awhile now, I guess you may have missed a little competition created by surfermarly on creating a 60 second video promoting STEEM.

My personal favourites are these 2 videos which I would be using to promote our offline events.

This was done by @ashtv and I personally think its just brilliantly done simple and straight to the point.

Here is the other 2 videos which I would be using to share onto social media prior to the event.

These amazing videos really showed how amazing the community is in terms of creativity and I’m just blown away with the professionalism in these videos.

I would be incorporating these videos into my presentation as well as it pretty much explains STEEM in 60 seconds.

So do support our offline events we have a number of it coming and our next one would be on the 6th April 2019 in Penang Malaysia.

Our fundition campaign link is below. Hope you would be able to support it.

Its now confirmed ! Steem Sharing Bootcamp Penang

We have finalized the dates and new venue to our event this coming April for another exciting round of sharing STEEM to the folks in Penang.

The event will happen on April 6th at The Blocksignal’s spanking new office at 138-03-03A Jalan Anson, Penang. From 2:30pm till 6:00pm !

If you have friends / family or even if you are in Penang during this time, do come and join us. The event is free and it would be the best time to get your friends and family onboard creating great content.

This is just an introduction talk and not a technical one. We would be introducing apps people commonly use on the STEEM blockchain and we will also get people to signup during the event itself .

The signup page is now LIVE ! Signup at the link as space is really limited ! Looking forward in seeing you all there

Changes in Penang STEEM Bootcamp Schedule

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we have to move our schedule of our Penang Bootcamp Sharing to either 1st week or 2nd week of March. This is due to space availability and also to coincide with TheBlockSignal ‘s event plans who is our partners and organizers there

Even though the dates has moved, we are still very positive about the event there and are excited about trying to get a larger crowd.

Other updates in Malaysia

We are now finalizing more workshops and planning in Kota Kinabalu to grow more content creators in the community in Borneo. We are moving our plans forward in Borneo to start running workshops to drive the growth of STEEM adoption here and also to work out a sustainability model for new users.

When will this happen ?

Our workshops will begin by May 2019 and we are now currently planning for space and also facilities. It surely is going to be a really exciting year for Steem in Malaysia !

Won’t be able to reveal much as a lot of planning is still in the works however rest assure that it will happen.

A impromptu meetup with steemians

It was a very last minute decision to hop on a flight and head back to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah as there was something which I had to do

And as always I took the opportunity to meetup with all steemians who was around town and had the time. Being all part of STEEMXP community and also TEAMMALAYSIA , we had a breif discussion as to the current markets and also direction of growing STEEM adoption in Malaysia.

its the Chinese New Year celebrations here too

Looking at 2019, it is going to be a lot of speculations and fud in the crypto space. I do have confidence in the blockchain technology and its surely going to strive into something greater then what it is known for today.

We will however always push for growth in this region with a few more events being line up throughout the year, we have already begun planning workshops and more talks around the STEEM ecosystem. With more and more amazing DAPPS being developed by independent developers, STEEM will surely be one of the strongest blockchain & community around.

Don’t forget our next event is just 2 weeks away in Penang and once everyone is back to work after the Chinese New Year holidays we can push and plan for more confirmed events.

Would love for you to support our campaign on fundition for running all these offline events and promoting adoption of STEEM

Have a brilliant Weekend !

The Settlements Co-Working Space in Penang

It was only just last month where we held our first Penang event in 2019 and I would like to give a shoutout to the venue that provided the venue which was a really nice co-working space called The Settlements.

The Settlements Penang is located in a MSC status building. If you do not know what MSC is , in a nutshell it stands for ( Multimedia Super Corridor a Malaysian Govt initiative to provide special perks to tech companies ) However as part of the guidelines, having a company which is MSC Status, you would require to reside your office in a MSC zone / building.

https://www.mdec.my/faq/msc-malaysia

The office environment setup by The Settlements Penang is suitable for young entrepreneurs who just started their spanking new company however does not have the necessary funds to rent an entire office space yet but would like to have the perks of an office.

The Settlements Penang

You have the option in taking a room or if you are always out and about, you can just take the hot desking where you are free to come in and out as you like and if you require to have meetings, there are full facilities meeting rooms at your disposal as well.

The location of The Settlements is within driving distance to almost everywhere within the Penang area so its convenient and is satisfactory for most aspiring tech companies.

We had our first Steem Sharing Session here and I do love the colors in the presentation room that was provided. Thanks to The Settlements in allowing us to use this place and we would be having our next session here as well … unless something else comes up.

Checkout their website http://settlements.work/

Our next Steem Sharing Bootcamp would be on the 24th February 2019 at 2:30pm – 5pm

If you are coming from Kuala Lumpur … haha its almost a 5 hour journey

But if you are already in penang then here is the link to the location

It was really great to have @connecteconomy to come down from Thailand to join us.
