It was a very last minute decision to hop on a flight and head back to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah as there was something which I had to do
And as always I took the opportunity to meetup with all steemians who was around town and had the time. Being all part of STEEMXP community and also TEAMMALAYSIA , we had a breif discussion as to the current markets and also direction of growing STEEM adoption in Malaysia.
Looking at 2019, it is going to be a lot of speculations and fud in the crypto space. I do have confidence in the blockchain technology and its surely going to strive into something greater then what it is known for today.
We will however always push for growth in this region with a few more events being line up throughout the year, we have already begun planning workshops and more talks around the STEEM ecosystem. With more and more amazing DAPPS being developed by independent developers, STEEM will surely be one of the strongest blockchain & community around.
Don’t forget our next event is just 2 weeks away in Penang and once everyone is back to work after the Chinese New Year holidays we can push and plan for more confirmed events.
Would love for you to support our campaign on fundition for running all these offline events and promoting adoption of STEEM
Going around the shopping malls in Malaysia past few weeks , you’ll see a very common sight. Almost everywhere is splashed with RED ! If that is your favourite color then your eyes will be feasting in all the variants of RED.
Why its splashed with RED is purely because Chinese New Year is just a few days away and RED symbols prosperity.
Even all the hampers are all RED. A lot of merchants take this time to take advantage of the festivities and packing up goodies bundling it in very nice hampers
Well , with all the distractions and shopping going on, we must always remember that celebrating CNY is mostly about being with the family and welcome the new year with prosperity and luck for everyone.
The Mamak is a typical Malaysian restaurant where you can get extremely yummy food for the cheapest price. But there are a few tips which I learned over the years to get real value for money.
Unlike Starbucks, where you get 3 different types of sizes and have to pay a lot more, the Mamak offers either standard cup size or the super jumbo size. I found out that there is another size if you really want to get a good deal. You call it the take away but have it in a bowl. Example… Teh O Ais. Or ice tea…just order Teh Ais Bungkus Mangkuk Ikat Tepi.
And you’ll end up like the picture above. Total price is about rm1.70 or rm2. Compared to the standard cup… You only get half the size and a difference of 40 cents at max.
When ordering roti ! Ask for Roti Telur or whatever roti.. But to get it fresh and crispy… Ask them for “garing” . You will then get a nice crispy roti telur.
I normally like freshly made and freshly cook so I always ask them to make it with onions as by asking that, they have to make a new one because its not the standard onces they make in bulk.
So year just my lil tips of going to the Mamak… What about you ? Any interesting value for Money food tips to share.?
Was invited to a talk organized by Productivity Nexus giving insights about our Malaysia National Productivity Blueprints and also about the current economic situations in China.
Up on stage was Professor Yijang from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business – China who came and spoke about the economic situations in China and the challenges that’s currently being faced.
A bit about Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business ( CKGSB ) , its one of the prestige universities in China where its Alluminis suchs as Jack Ma and about 3000 CEOs from various Chinese companies collectively holds revenues of about 13.7% of China’s GDP.
One of the highlights was also our Malaysia National Productivity Blueprint which was the focus of MPC ( Malaysia Productivity Council ) to introduce new methods in increasing the productivity in mostly the F&B and Retail sectors.
It was really an interesting talk and was surprise that there were Govt initiatives to improve overall productivity levels in retail and f&b sectors.
There are 4 sets of KPIs in these areas which NPC are trying to achieve by engaging with local businesses and encourage growth in these areas.
Overall it was a interesting talk and met a lot of new faces as this was my 1st event this year which is NON tech / crypto related. LoLz.
So today’s hot topic in Malaysia in the blockchain space is not about how the market is doing however it more towards the announcement by the Finance Minister in regards to regulatory matters about funds thru ICOs or “digital currencies”
With this surprise announcement, literally it also places all Crypto exchanges in Malaysia in a chaotic state as there are no clear guidelines set for licensing these exchanges.
The announcement seemed to had come out without proper planning. the announcement was issued out by Ministry of Finance however the executioner would be Securities Commissions and there is no clarity in regulating it.
So in today’s event at Unblock Kuala Lumpur held in KL… It was obvious that the main topic of the day was around ICOs, STOs and how the announcement is effecting the Blockchain scene in Malaysia
I’m sure that the panelist was already expecting these questions however almost all answers would be just speculations.
In the next couple of months, I’m sure there would be more regulatory announcements would be made and guidelines will appear. Let’s hope that it’s for the better and encourage economical growth in Malaysia
Do follow the campaign task and you will not only get rewarded however you will support STEEM to get more visibility. I do encourage all of you to show strength as we are STEEM and this is our platform.
I’ve always wanted to experience how real interactive TV would be like and when Netflix announced their first move into interactive TV.. I was really looking forward in getting a taste of this new age of movies.
Netflix released Bandersnatch only a few days ago and last night I had time to watch it!
From almost just a few minutes into the movie you are then asked to decide the direction of this movie. From the most simple task of choosing whats for breakfast to crazy decisions of killing someone or chopping them up or hurrying them
Every decision will lead to a different outcome. So don’t be fooled thinking this movie is going to take 1hour 30mins… Its wayyyyy longer as you try your way to get to see multiple endings in different scenarios.
My honest opinion… Netflix really took watching TV to the next level and I’m sure this is just a glimpse of what the future of TV would be like.
What a stroke of Brilliance from Netflix… I wonder whats next. Black Mirror was just the perfect series to start this interactive TV with.
