Going around the shopping malls in Malaysia past few weeks , you’ll see a very common sight. Almost everywhere is splashed with RED ! If that is your favourite color then your eyes will be feasting in all the variants of RED.
Why its splashed with RED is purely because Chinese New Year is just a few days away and RED symbols prosperity.
Even all the hampers are all RED. A lot of merchants take this time to take advantage of the festivities and packing up goodies bundling it in very nice hampers
Well , with all the distractions and shopping going on, we must always remember that celebrating CNY is mostly about being with the family and welcome the new year with prosperity and luck for everyone.
The Mamak is a typical Malaysian restaurant where you can get extremely yummy food for the cheapest price. But there are a few tips which I learned over the years to get real value for money.
Unlike Starbucks, where you get 3 different types of sizes and have to pay a lot more, the Mamak offers either standard cup size or the super jumbo size. I found out that there is another size if you really want to get a good deal. You call it the take away but have it in a bowl. Example… Teh O Ais. Or ice tea…just order Teh Ais Bungkus Mangkuk Ikat Tepi.
And you’ll end up like the picture above. Total price is about rm1.70 or rm2. Compared to the standard cup… You only get half the size and a difference of 40 cents at max.
When ordering roti ! Ask for Roti Telur or whatever roti.. But to get it fresh and crispy… Ask them for “garing” . You will then get a nice crispy roti telur.
I normally like freshly made and freshly cook so I always ask them to make it with onions as by asking that, they have to make a new one because its not the standard onces they make in bulk.
So year just my lil tips of going to the Mamak… What about you ? Any interesting value for Money food tips to share.?
Finally got the time to clean up my slides a little bit and share my presentation slides with everyone. Hope it gives an idea on how I normally share about STEEM to the general public.
In my typical presentation I try not to be too technical about Witnesses or even where the money comes from. However the focus on what STEEM blockchain is all about and the various projects and communities which are already using some of these amazing apps like PARTIKO, STEEMPRESS and also FUNDITION.
If anyone ask How Can I Cash Out ?
I always tell them to earn some STEEM first thru their posting and when they want to $$$ then send me a message or they can just google it.
If they ask Where the money comes from ?
I normally tell them … the blockchain handles the amount of STEEM everyone gets and this is fueled by posts which they do and upvotes they receive. However earn some STEEM from they posts first to understand better
The objectives of doing a basic introduction is mainly to get new users to start posting and we want to show them that there are so many ways to post and so many apps out there that serves different purposes. eg. STEEMHUNT or even DTaste or Tasteem which is used for recepies or restaurants review.
Penang Steem Sharing Bootcamp
A little reminder that we are running our Penang Steem Sharing Bootcamp once more on the 24th Feb 2019 and it will be held at The Settlements Penang. Time 2:30pm – 5:30pm
If you are around Penang, do hop on over and lets catch up. Thanks to FUNDITION and everyone else who helped to promote this drive to get more users on STEEM.
It was only just last month where we held our first Penang event in 2019 and I would like to give a shoutout to the venue that provided the venue which was a really nice co-working space called The Settlements.
The Settlements Penang is located in a MSC status building. If you do not know what MSC is , in a nutshell it stands for ( Multimedia Super Corridor a Malaysian Govt initiative to provide special perks to tech companies ) However as part of the guidelines, having a company which is MSC Status, you would require to reside your office in a MSC zone / building.
The office environment setup by The Settlements Penang is suitable for young entrepreneurs who just started their spanking new company however does not have the necessary funds to rent an entire office space yet but would like to have the perks of an office.
You have the option in taking a room or if you are always out and about, you can just take the hot desking where you are free to come in and out as you like and if you require to have meetings, there are full facilities meeting rooms at your disposal as well.
The location of The Settlements is within driving distance to almost everywhere within the Penang area so its convenient and is satisfactory for most aspiring tech companies.
We had our first Steem Sharing Session here and I do love the colors in the presentation room that was provided. Thanks to The Settlements in allowing us to use this place and we would be having our next session here as well … unless something else comes up.
Checkout their website http://settlements.work/
Our next Steem Sharing Bootcamp would be on the 24th February 2019 at 2:30pm – 5pm
But if you are already in penang then here is the link to the location
Finally managed to sit down and finish Season 1 of Netflix ‘s Docu Series ( Documentary Series ) of the ROMAN EMPIRE – Reign Of Blood. And I was surprised that I managed to go thru all of that.
Revolving around two different timeline of the reign Commodus , it gave insights to the politics within the Empire of ROME and all the challenges they faced to retain power and how decisions made by them made ROME into the most powerful empire in the world.
Season 1 focuses on Commodus the son of Marcus Aurelius who ruled the empire and expanded the Roman Empire throughout most of what we know as Europe now.
It was a mix of both Documentaries and TV Series making it one of Netflix more interesting shows to watch.
So if you do have the time and is interested of a lil bit of history during your weekends, do check this out.

One of the ways would be to optimize your blogs is to have other people linking back their WordPress sites back to yours. This is a method used by numerous SEO companies .
I’m not a SEO expert however I do know that by linking all our wordpress sites together we would be able to help each other promote everyone’s wordpress blogs and perhaps be able to push more traffic to our blog sites.
By linking all our wordpress blogs together we will be able to rank our websites even better and will give us opportunity to bring more web traffic to our blog site.

Was invited to a talk organized by Productivity Nexus giving insights about our Malaysia National Productivity Blueprints and also about the current economic situations in China.
Up on stage was Professor Yijang from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business – China who came and spoke about the economic situations in China and the challenges that’s currently being faced.
A bit about Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business ( CKGSB ) , its one of the prestige universities in China where its Alluminis suchs as Jack Ma and about 3000 CEOs from various Chinese companies collectively holds revenues of about 13.7% of China’s GDP.
One of the highlights was also our Malaysia National Productivity Blueprint which was the focus of MPC ( Malaysia Productivity Council ) to introduce new methods in increasing the productivity in mostly the F&B and Retail sectors.
It was really an interesting talk and was surprise that there were Govt initiatives to improve overall productivity levels in retail and f&b sectors.
There are 4 sets of KPIs in these areas which NPC are trying to achieve by engaging with local businesses and encourage growth in these areas.
Overall it was a interesting talk and met a lot of new faces as this was my 1st event this year which is NON tech / crypto related. LoLz.
Another week has just passed and over the pass 24 hours ther @sndbox did a DTube competition focusing on the creative side of things. Here are the winners which managed to put a video together within the time frame
This week 1st place winner is @cetu who played an original piece well worth listening too.
So today’s hot topic in Malaysia in the blockchain space is not about how the market is doing however it more towards the announcement by the Finance Minister in regards to regulatory matters about funds thru ICOs or “digital currencies”
With this surprise announcement, literally it also places all Crypto exchanges in Malaysia in a chaotic state as there are no clear guidelines set for licensing these exchanges.
The announcement seemed to had come out without proper planning. the announcement was issued out by Ministry of Finance however the executioner would be Securities Commissions and there is no clarity in regulating it.
So in today’s event at Unblock Kuala Lumpur held in KL… It was obvious that the main topic of the day was around ICOs, STOs and how the announcement is effecting the Blockchain scene in Malaysia
I’m sure that the panelist was already expecting these questions however almost all answers would be just speculations.
In the next couple of months, I’m sure there would be more regulatory announcements would be made and guidelines will appear. Let’s hope that it’s for the better and encourage economical growth in Malaysia
