Let’s get STEEM in another exchange – bitmama.io

You guys know the drill ! Lets get STEEM into as many exchanges as possible. This is https://bitmama.io Bitmama is a crypto-fiat exchange which enables traders to trade Bitcoin, Ethereum and other digital assets in Africa.

Do support and comment STEEM at its twitter post.

With STEEM getting onto more exchanges, it increases the chance of people trading STEEM and strengthening the community. It gives really good branding and also get more people curious into joining our community.

So make sure you tweet and support this effort in getting more people onto the STEEM blockchain and also more people buying and selling steem.

Remember just a few months ago we did the same voting for NETCOINS ?

gonetcoins.com

It was a successful campaign and its now listed on NETCOINs site

So lets do the same for this and it only takes a tweet. Cheers and have a great day.

Sharing STEEM at Blocklime’s Blockchain Biz Track Bootcamp

Had the pleasure of attending Blocklime’s Blockchain Bootcamp today and its always great to attend anything organized by Blocklime Technologies as I always get to learn new things.

Harpreet the CEO of Blocklime Technologies is very well known in the blockchain scene in South East Asia and has been a speaker for many events globally.

I was given the opportunity to share about the STEEM blockchain to several people as they were really interested in STEEM. So I gave them the 20 mins talk and showcase of all the projects where are currently available.

Also had to chance to briefly chat with both Matthew ( left ) from Etherscan and also TM ( mid ) from Coingecko which were next on stage with other panelist.

Its events like these which helps educate the general public about blockchain. I’m glad to be able to meet like minded individuals where we consistently support each other when one of us organize these events.

I do hope that more initiatives like these happens everywhere to educate the general public with the right information and not some ponzi / scam which unfortunately has tarnished the views of “Blockchain” generally.

STEEM’s SMT Trading Exchange

Over the past few weeks, we’ve heard of initiatives like @steemengine which enables anyone on STEEM to create their own tokens. I think its a great idea and I knew that there were some discussion on using side-chains to create SMT Simple tokens for projects on STEEM.

People like @actifit , @steemhunt and even @magic-dice and who knows perhaps @drugwars will and some already have benefit from having their own token within the STEEM ecosystem.

Recently @steemhunt had signed a MOU ( memorandum of understanding ) stating a collaborative effort to get SMT tokens tradable on DAYBIT exchange

http://bit.ly/2ScUlWx

In all honesty, I only used a number of exchanges and this was the first time hearing about DAYBIT so I decided to dig in more. Even though there is no STEEM / SBD wallet yet , I did try depositing a lil bit of crypto’s in and start to explore this exchange.

At a glance, it looks just like ANY other exchange. And this is the top 5 exchange in Korea ? I did the norm signup and mobile registration. You had to do it to enable the deposits and 2FA.

The uniqueness about this exchange is that this exchange is just uniquely fast ! After reading more about it, its actually developed using a programming language called “Erlang” which is used for high-capacity data … example WhatsApp, LINE and even games like League of Legends.

What really caught my attention was its built in “trade intelligence”. So If you wanted to catch a trade at the top ( almost top ) and then sell .. you can actually set it to do so.

In the screen above I have set my trade to SELL my EOS to USDT after figuring out the TOP and it drops 5%. Now upon writing this , I just placed my order and waiting for it to execute. Hopefully I can report good news in my next article.

So literally you can also set the BUY signal at the bottom. I’ve not tried it out yet, however excited to see how it goes.

So before DAYBIT enables SMT tokens on the exchange, why not you give it a try so that onces SMT is on board you know how to auto trade. To signup, click the link below

https://daybit.page.link/SaF3gBzNda55NaQS7

A little bonus, if do trade on this exchange, you are also able to earn DAY token. Currently trading at $0.03 per token.

So checkout DAYBIT today …. and you must try the auto trade. Do let me know your experience on this exchange if you have used it before.

Changes in Penang STEEM Bootcamp Schedule

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we have to move our schedule of our Penang Bootcamp Sharing to either 1st week or 2nd week of March. This is due to space availability and also to coincide with TheBlockSignal ‘s event plans who is our partners and organizers there

Even though the dates has moved, we are still very positive about the event there and are excited about trying to get a larger crowd.

Other updates in Malaysia

We are now finalizing more workshops and planning in Kota Kinabalu to grow more content creators in the community in Borneo. We are moving our plans forward in Borneo to start running workshops to drive the growth of STEEM adoption here and also to work out a sustainability model for new users.

When will this happen ?

Our workshops will begin by May 2019 and we are now currently planning for space and also facilities. It surely is going to be a really exciting year for Steem in Malaysia !

Won’t be able to reveal much as a lot of planning is still in the works however rest assure that it will happen.

A impromptu meetup with steemians

It was a very last minute decision to hop on a flight and head back to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah as there was something which I had to do

And as always I took the opportunity to meetup with all steemians who was around town and had the time. Being all part of STEEMXP community and also TEAMMALAYSIA , we had a breif discussion as to the current markets and also direction of growing STEEM adoption in Malaysia.

its the Chinese New Year celebrations here too

Looking at 2019, it is going to be a lot of speculations and fud in the crypto space. I do have confidence in the blockchain technology and its surely going to strive into something greater then what it is known for today.

We will however always push for growth in this region with a few more events being line up throughout the year, we have already begun planning workshops and more talks around the STEEM ecosystem. With more and more amazing DAPPS being developed by independent developers, STEEM will surely be one of the strongest blockchain & community around.

Don’t forget our next event is just 2 weeks away in Penang and once everyone is back to work after the Chinese New Year holidays we can push and plan for more confirmed events.

Would love for you to support our campaign on fundition for running all these offline events and promoting adoption of STEEM

Steem Presentation Slides

Finally got the time to clean up my slides a little bit and share my presentation slides with everyone. Hope it gives an idea on how I normally share about STEEM to the general public.

slideshare by @bitrocker2020

In my typical presentation I try not to be too technical about Witnesses or even where the money comes from. However the focus on what STEEM blockchain is all about and the various projects and communities which are already using some of these amazing apps like PARTIKO, STEEMPRESS and also FUNDITION.

If anyone ask How Can I Cash Out ?

I always tell them to earn some STEEM first thru their posting and when they want to $$$ then send me a message or they can just google it.

If they ask Where the money comes from ?

I normally tell them … the blockchain handles the amount of STEEM everyone gets and this is fueled by posts which they do and upvotes they receive. However earn some STEEM from they posts first to understand better

The objectives of doing a basic introduction is mainly to get new users to start posting and we want to show them that there are so many ways to post and so many apps out there that serves different purposes. eg. STEEMHUNT or even DTaste or Tasteem which is used for recepies or restaurants review.

Penang Steem Sharing Bootcamp

A little reminder that we are running our Penang Steem Sharing Bootcamp once more on the 24th Feb 2019 and it will be held at The Settlements Penang. Time 2:30pm – 5:30pm

If you are around Penang, do hop on over and lets catch up. Thanks to FUNDITION and everyone else who helped to promote this drive to get more users on STEEM.

The Settlements Co-Working Space in Penang

It was only just last month where we held our first Penang event in 2019 and I would like to give a shoutout to the venue that provided the venue which was a really nice co-working space called The Settlements.

The Settlements Penang is located in a MSC status building. If you do not know what MSC is , in a nutshell it stands for ( Multimedia Super Corridor a Malaysian Govt initiative to provide special perks to tech companies ) However as part of the guidelines, having a company which is MSC Status, you would require to reside your office in a MSC zone / building.

https://www.mdec.my/faq/msc-malaysia

The office environment setup by The Settlements Penang is suitable for young entrepreneurs who just started their spanking new company however does not have the necessary funds to rent an entire office space yet but would like to have the perks of an office.

The Settlements Penang

You have the option in taking a room or if you are always out and about, you can just take the hot desking where you are free to come in and out as you like and if you require to have meetings, there are full facilities meeting rooms at your disposal as well.

The location of The Settlements is within driving distance to almost everywhere within the Penang area so its convenient and is satisfactory for most aspiring tech companies.

We had our first Steem Sharing Session here and I do love the colors in the presentation room that was provided. Thanks to The Settlements in allowing us to use this place and we would be having our next session here as well … unless something else comes up.

Checkout their website http://settlements.work/

Our next Steem Sharing Bootcamp would be on the 24th February 2019 at 2:30pm – 5pm

If you are coming from Kuala Lumpur … haha its almost a 5 hour journey

But if you are already in penang then here is the link to the location

https://www.google.com/maps/dir/3.0463587,101.6027739/the+settlements+penang/@4.2322415,99.885891,8z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m9!4m8!1m1!4e1!1m5!1m1!1s0x304ac3984e9c0449:0x8f3eef93ef4fcdab!2m2!1d100.3297721!2d5.4222051

Or just Waze to The Settlements Penang

More details would be coming up about the event, we are making some final adjustments before coming out with the invite links. Looking forward in seeing you all there.
