Malaysian Blockchain Week 2019 ! 8 DAYS to go

So its another 8 more days to go before the start of Malaysian Blockchain Week 2019 ! Its a whole week of Tech Events , Fintech Events and not forgetting Blockchain Events.

There would be so many events happening the entire week that its really hard to keep track of everything.

Lucky thing there is a spreadsheet which would constantly be updated as events happens around the city of Kuala Lumpur. Here is the link to the spreadsheet

http://bit.ly/mtw2019

All the events are updated there so do signup if you are interested in attending any of the events. For the main blockchain event, I would be one of the speakers.

I would be talking about STEEM of course and all the information you would be able to obtain it from this site. http://www.malaysiablockchainweek.com/

STEEM BUSINESS ALLIANCE ( @steemba ) has been entered as a community partner for Malaysian Blockchain Week and I would hope to make a difference and grab as much awareness for STEEM during these events.

Time to get cracking on my presentation, these are opportunities where STEEM can gain traction therefore it has to be as perfect as it can be.

Cheers and have a great week !

Event update with other speakers

We got the poster updated and our event in Penang is good to go . Speaking together with me during the event is Jason Chew Managing Partner for Bitcoin Malaysia. We have done numerous events together and they are on steemit as well. @bitcoinmalaysia

They also manage one of Malaysia’s largest blockchain groups on Facebook which has over 52k of members ! Here is the link to the group if you want to join in. If you intend to come in and spam your affiliate links … you will be banned and kicked out almost immediately. You’ve been warned !

Its a great community to make friends within the blockchain space in Malaysia and if you are around Malaysia and would like to get updated on events happening in this crypto/blockchain space, I would recommend you join in the group as well. Just remember, no spamming !

Also sharing the stage would be SINEGY which is one of the crypto exchanges in Malaysia. There are only a handful of crypto exchanges which are in the midst of evaluation by SEC to be provided a license. Before SEC came out with the regulations in Feb 2019, there were about 50 exchanges which were named however only a handful were able to submit and comply to the regulations.

All exchanges are not “officially” legal yet however those who wants operate would require to submit a long and complex documentation to SEC and also come up with like RM5million paid up capital

So if you are around Penang on the 25th May 2019 do signup and join us in our event ! We would love to meet up with you ! Below is the signup link.

Hope to see you there.

HUNT Token Listing on Daybit 15th April 2019

So its going to happen very soon .. just another few more days before STEEM HUNT token is officially listed on an exchange. All those of you who has accumulated all those STEEMHUNT , it would now be tradeable on DAYBIT.

OMG I’m going to SELL everything and make all my money !

Hold on … hold on there ! There are a few “exemptions” before you can start selling every single hunt tokens out there.

  1. All tokens are locked and will be disbursed in 91 installments. (13 weeks ) Meaning if you have 91000 Hunt Tokens, you will only be able to withdraw 1000 every day…. after 8pm KST
  2. There is a maximum of 10,000 HUNT token withdrawal per day
  3. On the 15th April the wallets will be opened at 12:50:00 KST and for the first 10 minutes you would not be able to sell however you can only buy. So only if you have participated in the IEO, you would be able to sell your tokens there.
  4. Pairing would be HUNT/BTC and opening price would be at $0.02 per hunt token.

You would need to have a ETH account & metamask to transfer your HUNT tokens from Steemhunt – i would make a video on this soon.

If you have not signup for DAYBIT , signup here !

Why on earth should I keep any HUNT tokens ?

As per the roadmap as stated in Steemhunt’s website https://token.steemhunt.com/ there are a lot of new upcoming features and products which would be released by STEEMHUNT. This would include REVIEWHUNT and IDEAHUNT

Makers/companies spend an enormous amount of time/efforts to raise attention from early adopters because their word of mouth impact is exceptionally high. With Reviewhunt, it’s never been easier for makers to attract early-adopters by offering newly launched products with large discounts or bounties in return for quality reviews that will boost up their launching buzz.

https://token.steemhunt.com/

The crowdfunding market size is huge with $6.8 billion. There are already many blockchain-based crowdfunding projects. In order to surpass the centralised players (such as Kickstarter or GoFundMe), we believe that the blockchain-powered crowdfunding platform should provide more differentiated values, rather than just the basics of accepting cryptos, reducing accounting cost, using smart contracts, and taking smaller cuts.
Ideahunt will utilise NFT (Non-fungible token) transactions for the crowdfunding/backing activities, so that the backer’s actions will be linked with the pre-market valuation of the crowdfunding products.

https://token.steemhunt.com/

Therefore its ideal that you safe some of your HUNT tokens to actively take part in these two new product lines which would be release very soon as well.

HUNT Trading Contest ! up to $25k up for grabs

https://steemit.com/steemhunt/@steemhunt/hunt-token-listing-announcement-trading-competitions-with-about-usd25-000-worth-of-prizes

Another Great impromptu meetup

This time slightly larger crowd and we had our favourite @joythewanderer who just came in after travelling around Vietnam.

Having meetups like these is very exciting as we all have a common thing which we always talk about. Crypto & Steem …. i meant apart from all the other “worldly” chats .. it always comes back down to that.

Thanks to @aaronleang & @joannewong for always organizing this as it never is easy to quickly pull everyone together at the very last minute.

Now …. talking about meetups !! its only 1 more day left before I head over to Penang for our Steem Sharing Session !

If you are in Penang , Malaysia tomorrow and wanna join in, here is the signup site http://steemxpv2.peatix.com

I’ll start my journey up to Penang in a few hours time … its gonna be a long yet awesome day for sure !!

Another impromptu STEEM meetup

With great pleasure I attended a very impromptu meetup and we had a number of steemians near and from far that came. The common thing we all have in common is we are all active on the STEEM blockchain.

Was great to met up with  @goodwithtravels who was on his Asia trip and taking the time out to meet with steemians in Malaysia. He had previously met up with the guys in Kota Kinabalu and now in Kuala Lumpur

dav

It was a fun meetup as always and great to have these guys always. Cheers and have a great Weekend.

Sharing STEEM at Blocklime’s Blockchain Biz Track Bootcamp

Had the pleasure of attending Blocklime’s Blockchain Bootcamp today and its always great to attend anything organized by Blocklime Technologies as I always get to learn new things.

Harpreet the CEO of Blocklime Technologies is very well known in the blockchain scene in South East Asia and has been a speaker for many events globally.

I was given the opportunity to share about the STEEM blockchain to several people as they were really interested in STEEM. So I gave them the 20 mins talk and showcase of all the projects where are currently available.

Also had to chance to briefly chat with both Matthew ( left ) from Etherscan and also TM ( mid ) from Coingecko which were next on stage with other panelist.

Its events like these which helps educate the general public about blockchain. I’m glad to be able to meet like minded individuals where we consistently support each other when one of us organize these events.

I do hope that more initiatives like these happens everywhere to educate the general public with the right information and not some ponzi / scam which unfortunately has tarnished the views of “Blockchain” generally.

Its now confirmed ! Steem Sharing Bootcamp Penang

We have finalized the dates and new venue to our event this coming April for another exciting round of sharing STEEM to the folks in Penang.

The event will happen on April 6th at The Blocksignal’s spanking new office at 138-03-03A Jalan Anson, Penang. From 2:30pm till 6:00pm !

If you have friends / family or even if you are in Penang during this time, do come and join us. The event is free and it would be the best time to get your friends and family onboard creating great content.

This is just an introduction talk and not a technical one. We would be introducing apps people commonly use on the STEEM blockchain and we will also get people to signup during the event itself .

The signup page is now LIVE ! Signup at the link as space is really limited ! Looking forward in seeing you all there

Changes in Penang STEEM Bootcamp Schedule

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we have to move our schedule of our Penang Bootcamp Sharing to either 1st week or 2nd week of March. This is due to space availability and also to coincide with TheBlockSignal ‘s event plans who is our partners and organizers there

Even though the dates has moved, we are still very positive about the event there and are excited about trying to get a larger crowd.

Other updates in Malaysia

We are now finalizing more workshops and planning in Kota Kinabalu to grow more content creators in the community in Borneo. We are moving our plans forward in Borneo to start running workshops to drive the growth of STEEM adoption here and also to work out a sustainability model for new users.

When will this happen ?

Our workshops will begin by May 2019 and we are now currently planning for space and also facilities. It surely is going to be a really exciting year for Steem in Malaysia !

Won’t be able to reveal much as a lot of planning is still in the works however rest assure that it will happen.

Malaysia national productivity blueprints

Was invited to a talk organized by Productivity Nexus giving insights about our Malaysia National Productivity Blueprints and also about the current economic situations in China.

Prof Wang Yijiang ( Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business ( CKGSB )

Up on stage was Professor Yijang from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business – China who came and spoke about the economic situations in China and the challenges that’s currently being faced.

A bit about Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business ( CKGSB ) , its one of the prestige universities in China where its Alluminis suchs as Jack Ma and about 3000 CEOs from various Chinese companies collectively holds revenues of about 13.7% of China’s GDP.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheung_Kong_Graduate_School_of_Business

One of the highlights was also our Malaysia National Productivity Blueprint which was the focus of MPC ( Malaysia Productivity Council ) to introduce new methods in increasing the productivity in mostly the F&B and Retail sectors.

oznor_soft

It was really an interesting talk and was surprise that there were Govt initiatives to improve overall productivity levels in retail and f&b sectors.

oznor_soft

There are 4 sets of KPIs in these areas which NPC are trying to achieve by engaging with local businesses and encourage growth in these areas.

Overall it was a interesting talk and met a lot of new faces as this was my 1st event this year which is NON tech / crypto related. LoLz.

Malaysia regulate ico and blockchain

So today’s hot topic in Malaysia in the blockchain space is not about how the market is doing however it more towards the announcement by the Finance Minister in regards to regulatory matters about funds thru ICOs or “digital currencies”

https://www.sc.com.my/news/media-releases-and-announcements/sc-to-regulate-offering-and-trading-of-digital-assets

With this surprise announcement, literally it also places all Crypto exchanges in Malaysia in a chaotic state as there are no clear guidelines set for licensing these exchanges.

The announcement seemed to had come out without proper planning. the announcement was issued out by Ministry of Finance however the executioner would be Securities Commissions and there is no clarity in regulating it.

Unblock Kuala Lumput

So in today’s event at Unblock Kuala Lumpur held in KL… It was obvious that the main topic of the day was around ICOs, STOs and how the announcement is effecting the Blockchain scene in Malaysia

I’m sure that the panelist was already expecting these questions however almost all answers would be just speculations.

Unblock Kuala Lumpur

In the next couple of months, I’m sure there would be more regulatory announcements would be made and guidelines will appear. Let’s hope that it’s for the better and encourage economical growth in Malaysia
