Looks like the charts are looking really good and we are now reaching the peak of BTC/USDT which may lead us up to about 15k – 30k. However these are just fundamentals and is not an investment advise.
STEEM/BTC pairs however looks like its taking a dive down really really low. If you follow @lukestokes daily reports you will see that there are a lot of withdrawals happening everyday.
Just last week alone there was almost 1.7 million STEEM being transferred out to just Binance and Upbit. ( source ) The rest went everywhere else, however the big bulk was these exchanges.
If you had transferred out and exchanged your STEEM to BTC last week you would have made about 10%-15% increase in earnings. So sometimes you wonder if you should do it for that gain.
When BTCs moons to a All Time High ( ATH ) you would be able to have significant gains by buying STEEM at that point. Although there is no guarantee and not a strategy for everyone and with HF21 with SMT in clearer view, there is a possibility that STEEM would strengthen once more. But that’s a lot of What If and may be a bit too risky for those who don’t want to miss out on current market advantages.
For me , I’m not powering down however I’m liquidating some steem so that I would be able to buy into STEEM at a stronger position once the BTC markets moves sideways.
I’m not a “trade expert” however these are just my thoughts and not any advise. Do let me know if you can share your strategy.
Its already July 2019 and half the year has already passed. Its so far been an amazing year for the blockchain community especially here in Malaysia. With the Malaysian Govt endorsing that there is a need for regulations required for this space by providing conditional license for 3 crypto-fiat exchanges its seems like its going to be a bright future.
As witness no. 92 at the moment of this writing, I would just like to give a brief summary on what has happened over the past 6 months in terms of awareness and adoption of the STEEM community and a highlight to what I’ve been doing to promote STEEM. Even though I’m not a full time coder, however, I’m full time in growing the awareness of this amazing blockchain which we all have come to love.
After much success in running multiple events in East, North and Central Malaysia, the community seems to be vibrant and rapidly gaining awareness about how they can use STEEM on the daily basis. Most of these events are targeted towards a diversity of audience from different background. So meaning that it has to be as simple as possible to understand and get started.
Appart from running our own events, I was also honoured to be able to speak at several events which we more focused on the blockchain community.
Having done the most recent ones in June 2019 was Malaysian Blockchain Week where I was asked to share about the STEEM blockchain in the Blockchain Tracks which had audiences from all over asia.
And also another STEEM sharing session which was done to a small group of individuals who were content creators (photo bottom)
The drive and aim this year was of course to explore and to show those in the blockchain space that STEEM is not just another blockchain to shill and compete with others however its a blockchain where communities are able to come together to share content and could also be used as a alternative way to get rewarded for their artistry.
Irregardless of the age group, I am always ready and available to talk about STEEM to a crowd if provided the opportunity. These students below are from a rural part of Sarawak where they have absolutely no idea what blockchain is however they know what social media is , so sharing about STEEM and its DAPPs made it relevant to them.
I must say that there is absolutely NO way I could have traveled all around Malaysia and do these talks without the help of the community and its unending support. Some people I would love to mention who has always supported me and my drive to push for growing the community here in Malaysia are amazing individuals like @kevinwong, @davidke20, @elizacheng, @littlenewthings, @danieldoughty, @veenang, @bboyady, @wilsonkoh, @joannewong, @aaronleang @littlenewthings, @zord189, @coingecko, @awesomianist, @dongkeypong, @tombstone, @bitcoinmalaysia, @currykhoo, @patriciawpy, @ninjaboon, @hightouch, @starkerz, @anarcotech, @project7, @thecryptodrive, @anomadsoul and so many other steemians out there which just can’t fit in one single post.
Also a great big fat thanks to some of these amazing projects which runs off the blockchain who just makes an enormous impact to the STEEM blockchain which is worth mentioning thruout any of my presentation. @fundition , @dtube, @oracle-d, @curie, @partiko, @steempress, @tasteem, @steemhunt and many many other projects.
I’ve always have new stuff to talk about when it comes to STEEM, and now with @aggroed and his team who has launched SCOT and the Nitros interface, its going to be a lot of new and upcoming projects showcasing the communities and the potential of STEEM.
WHATS NEXT ?
Moving forward in the next 6 months, I’m looking at more collaborative efforts to be able to gain more awareness about STEEM. These are some of the stuff which I have already begun discussion :-
Organizing partner events at several selected locations with one of the approved crypto – fiat exchange in Malaysia
Continue discussions with a national TV station to host a blockchain based segment to showcase not only STEEM but credible blockchain projects within the community.
Continue talks on getting advertising space on one of the largest wifi providers in Malaysia with more then 16,000 wifi hotspots.
Attending and engaging with more communities both blockchain and others.
So there you go , this is my witness update and I do hope that you would be able to support my witness with a witness vote here.
For those who have voted .. thank you thank you thank you ! Will continuously update the community on all events that is happening and will try to push for more collaboration to gain awareness of the STEEM blockchain in Malaysia.
For some who has been away from STEEM for the last 3 months, there has been a lot of changes which you may not be aware of. Most would be so confuse that they do not know where to start.
So here is a quick breakdown as to what have been happening if you have not caught up yet.
Most importantly, you need to know that @aggroed and his team has created a tool called http://steem-engine.com which enables or simulates smartcontracts on the STEEM blockchain. In simple terms, it gives others an opportunity to create their own token using the same design as STEEM which post, vote and earn. And the best is that everything still runs off the STEEM blockchain
So here are the current 4 sites which has deployed their own token and is currently live with steemians using their same login to use these apps.
With thousands of users already in the community of PAL ( Peace Abundance & Love ) where it was a easy transition for them to just go in.
Steemcoinpan was started by a Korean community member which then quickly got picked up by other communities as they managed to maintain a high token value by introducing burn tokens and staking incentives.
This is one of my favourites so far as it is very focus on SPORTS content and even though there is a huge amount of distributed tokens pushing the token value down however with a moderated site for just SPORTS, I have a good feeling that this will just grow at a steady rate
One of the first projects launched thru STEEM Engine, like the title goes, its meant for Weed enthusiast who like to create content based on the subject matter. Do check it out if you are into it.
Whats Next ?
With STEEM announcing that SMT would be launch very soon, I do believe that these projects would transition to SMT upon launch. The only challenge for these projects is to work out a way to maintain the Token value else it would just turn into another useless token sitting in your wallet.
All the listed projects above has support for the Chrome plugin to login using your STEEM account with Keychain. So to ease your login process do download and install Keychain.
So its just 1 more day before another STEEM sharing session. That would be my closure for the month of June. This month has been a very busy month with many different events and met a bunch of really amazing individuals in the blockchain space.
Kuala Lumpur has been gaining a lot of focus of expansion for crypto projects after the announcement of 3 conditional licensed Crypro Exchanges by the security commissions of Malaysia.
This is why, its one of the best place to start talking and getting more awareness about STEEM within the community here. Projects will now realize that STEEM is not only about blogging however, its driven by content and its not to be seen as a competitor to other blockchains as it is easily able to co-exist with other projects as a form of content distribution. Exactly like how reddit or even FB is used.
So in the upcoming event tomorrow, I would be sharing about STEEM to a community which is NOT from the blockchain space and I’ve tweeked my slides to make it easier for it to be more relatable to the audience. Hopefully it works.
More information about this event can be taken from the link below.
Its going to be an awesome day tomorrow and I look forward in meeting more people.
Thanks to @fundition in supporting my drive to continuously share about the STEEM blockchain and all its amazing projects out there. If you would like to read about my fundition project more click this link
As you all may already know, the same team which has brought us the amazing platform of STEEMHUNT will be launching their new platform called REVIEWHUNT by July 2019.
REVIEWHUNT is a review platform where app makers & tech innovators are able to get real people reviewing their platform, apps or games
How App Makers can make use of REVIEWHUNT ?
If you are an app developer and want reviews on your app, you can engage with about 22,000 tech influencers and create a Review Campaign which then picked up by interested influencers to do the intended tasks.
One the task is completed, the Hunters are then rewarded with HUNT Token which is now tradeable on several exchanges.
At the time of this writing, there is already about 22,000 tech influencers which has signup to be part of this exciting new platform. This is by far going to be one of the largest number of influencer on one platform.
Its really going an exciting time once this gets launched as there is a huge demand from the market for social influencers especially when there are so many apps out in the market which just does not gain any reviews or awareness.
All the images above has been taken from REVIEWHUNT ‘s new pitch deck, if you want to have a look at the full deck do check out the link below.
There is already up to $683k of monthly budgets by almost 100 companies which has already signup. If you are not a HUNTER by then , you may loose out on this amazing opportunity to utilize your influence and to earn from that.
Also, Do checkout @steemhunt ‘s blogs for further exciting updates and try out the existing platform https://steemhunt.com to get rewarded for hunting cool items and earning HUNT Tokens .
Its finally here, Malaysian Blockchain Week with a series of events happening thru-out the city leading towards the event on the 20th June tomorrow where there would be conferences and speakers from all over the place in 1 location.
This was one of the event which I attended at WORQ in GLO Damanasara.
Was there to mainly support my buddy from SINEGY where they are one of three exchanges regulated in Malaysia. Had a lot of feedback from him regarding how they are going to expand rapidly in Malaysia.
He was on the Panel with a lot of questions from the audience which was a very mix crowd.
All events won’t be complete without a good tehtarik session where more discussions continued. Left to right ( Colbert – Bitcoin Malaysia , Jack – he seriously look like Justin Sun , Leslie from Intersteller.org and myself )
This is just the start and many more people to meet this week. Have a great week and if you are in Kuala Lumpur and would like to join in some of these events, here is the spreadsheet links.
STEEM BUSINESS ALLIANCE ( @steemba ) has been entered as a community partner for Malaysian Blockchain Week and I would hope to make a difference and grab as much awareness for STEEM during these events.
Time to get cracking on my presentation, these are opportunities where STEEM can gain traction therefore it has to be as perfect as it can be.
Hey guys, there has been news about Telegram groups being stolen or identities being stolen over Telegram and today I would want to advise all of you to just update this simple step on your Telegram app just to prevent unknown persons to know your true telephone number thru telegram.
The idea is to make sure your Phone Number is set to NOBODY under your Privacy and Security Settings. By default its set to Contacts, however sometimes we accidentally add people we don’t know into our contact list and you can never know who is behind that contact which may then find out your number.
In your Telegram app,
Go to your TG settings,
click on “Phone Number” My Contacts,
then change settings to “Nobody” and save changes.
You should then see it like the picture in the top. This would also prevent people from just sharing your contact number to everyone, which has happened to me before.
It becomes annoying if your number gets shared without your permission and I’m sure it may have happened to you before.
Stay safe guys, there are a lot of hackers and scammers out there to steal your identity and worst of all , your money or cryptos.
